As the Secretary-General and Executive Director of , we cannot wait to welcome you to the 58th iteration of the North American Invitational Model United Nations, held virtually from February 12th - February 14th, 2021 on Zoom. While this year’s NAIMUN will be held entirely in an online format, we hope to innovate and expand on the premier Model United Nations conference that you have all come to know very well. NAIMUN is well known for its substantive excellence, academic rigor, and educational programming, all things we will carry over and adapt to the virtual environment. NAIMUN will host delegates from across the US and the world in a groundbreaking 40 innovative and rewarding committees. Our entire staff is incredibly passionate about making this the best NAIMUN possible for all of you. Through participating in high level debate, starting engaging dialogues through speakers and panels, and connecting with students from around the world, we hope that delegates will find this conference instrumental in igniting their curiosity for international affairs. All of our 250+ Georgetown University undergraduate staffers share in our dedication to educate the next generation of global leaders, and we will work as hard as we can to equip the 3,300+ high school delegates with a robust educational experience. With over 3,300 of the best delegates from around the United States and the world, NAIMUN has been called the “high school championship” of the Model UN circuit, a reputation earned through years of substantive excellence. NAIMUN connects students and advisers from around the world to discuss real world issues and offer unique perspectives on international affairs. In addition, many of the staffers are members of Georgetown's own travel Model UN team, one of the most highly awarded delegations in the nation currently ranked #2 in North America. NAIMUN is typically held at the Washington Hilton in Dupont Circle, one of Washington’s most historic neighborhoods. While will be held virtually, we are committed to providing educational, real-world programs that are unique to Washington D.C.. Through innovative programming, such as virtual panels and speaker events, we hope to immerse our delegates in the arena of international relations. Each and every aspect and feature of NAIMUN is geared toward providing our delegates with the most exciting and fulfilling experiences, and we’re confident that NAIMUN weekend will be a highlight in your school year. At NAIMUN, through diplomacy and dialogue, delegates are challenged with weaving together contrasting viewpoints, ideals, and policies to align their represented vision with those working around them in order to foster compromise and peace.
